Humans have been burying their dead for at least 100,000 years.
Burial is often seen as indicating respect for the dead. At a religious burial service, conducted at the side of the grave the body of the deceased is buried at the conclusion. In many cultures it has been seen as a necessary step for the deceased to enter the afterlife or to give back to the cycle of life.
Sometimes, the burial service will immediately follow the funeral, in which case a funeral procession travels from the site of the service to the burial site. In some other cases, the burial service is the funeral, in which case the procession might travel from the cemetery office to the grave site, or meet directly at the grave site.
We can help plan your Burial Service
The Burial Service involves the purchase of the grave, the right of interment, opening / closing fees and maintenance. This is normally purchased with the assistance of Barbara King Funeral Director from the local Council or a chosen Memorial Park or Private Cemetery.
